Peleda by Nathan Jurevicius

Finally, it’s Peleda! I saw the prototypes a while back but I’m so so happy that they didn’t get crazied up during production. My boyfriend might think that they’re “like something you’d see in a pawn shop, or a thrift store … they look like bars of soap or something,” but I, on the other hand, think they’re delightfully retro and I really like the (mostly) cohesive pastel color scheme. They’re charming, they’re 70s, and I just love them.

“Wind-up … whose gonna wind those things up?”

In fact, if they did make them into bars of soap I’d buy them, put them in my bathroom, and then flip my lid if anyone was foolish enough to actually try to use one. “They’re decorative!” I’d screech. Regardless, Peleda is a Toy Tokyo exclusive, $9.99 each, blind boxed, and will be released in March 2008. True.
