I started making collage blocks in 2011 after being accepted into the Art-o-Mat project. Of course, being me, I waited way too long to finish them and ended up being asked, by someone I had never communicated with before, to re-apply before sending them. I had no interest in that what so ever in going through the application process again so now I’m making the blocks available like my ATCs. As much as I enjoyed making the collage blocks I’ve found that their rate of decay is much more rapid than with an ATC, probably because the blocks are made of MDF and the paper just has a hard time sticking to it. I probably won’t make any more collage blocks unless I find a more suitable material some time in the future.
