When I saw the Manish Arora Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear collection I absolutely had to post it. Generally when I post fashion my hope is that it will end up in one of the magazines so I can collage with it, and this collection is no exception, though part of me wonders if it’s too esoteric for most of the magazines to use. All my favorite pieces from the collection are in a mini gallery below, but I especially love the pieces with the lipstick motif. That coupled with the pastel (and pearls of course) presents this overwhelming girliness that has to border on parody or critique.
Take this piece for example (Look 7), the lipstick tubes around the collar of the dress look almost like bullets. The piece on the whole feels like some kind of mandala for Saint Cuteness; it’s absolutely adorable and utterly fun. Also, pastel and neon are no easy to use together, just saying.
