Remember our giveaway from last week? Well I drew the winner this morning and it was Yvonne! She chose Strobe (left in the photo below) as her prize so she will be on the way very soon!
As for the rest of the kokeshi: Glow (center) and Flash (right) are now up for adoption in my shop! I will be making more kokeshi available before the end of summer, too. I hope you like them and thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway!
It’s been a long time since I’ve done a giveaway, but I wanted to celebrate my Summer of Making Things by thanking everyone who supports my blog and my business. For this giveaway you will be able to choose one of the two neon kokeshi dolls above, either Flash (left) or Strobe (right). Both are hand painted with acrylic, embellished with hand cast resin and rhinestones, and sealed with a glossy finish. They are splattered with neon yellow and green paint as well as glow in the dark paint that’s very hard to see (until the lights go out).
Flash and Strobe are almost-twins with Strobe having more silver in her eye piece and a shier disposition. Flash is more outgoing and is very curious. The winner of this giveaway will have their choice of either Flash or Strobe, and the kokeshi who is not picked will be made available in my Etsy shop.
To enter: All you need to do to enter is leave a comment letting me know 1) which kokeshi you want if you win 2) what you want to see me make in the future and 3) your email (private) so I can contact you when you win!
A winner will be drawn Wednesday, July 15th and announced here on the blog. Shipping is free all over the world. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!
Update: The winner is Yvonne! Thank you to everyone who entered. The non-prize kokeshi are now up for adoption in the shop!
When I started February’s 12/12/12 Project I had originally only meant to make the Inner and Outer Senshi, but I found these three stickers of the Sailor Starlights in my Seal Club stash and had to make them. Stars was my favorite season of Sailor Moon and I adore these three characters. The gender swapping alone is great but “Star Gentle Uterus!” (Sailor Star Maker’s attack)? Amazing! I cannot believe it was censored to “Star Gentle Creator,” not to mention how much hoopla there is over their “true” genders. I tried to make their charms all coordinate with one another, they each have two hematite stars and star shaped metal connectors. My favorite is Sailor Star Healer, but all three are up for grabs. Sailor Star Fighter is at the top, Sailor Star Maker is in the middle, and Sailor Star Healer is at the bottom.
If you are interested in any of these three just leave a comment below with your name, a valid email (which will not be public), and which one you would like (you can also say any of them would be fine). Tomorrow morning if more than one person wants one I will draw a recipient randomly and email you for you mailing address. You have one day to write back before it goes to the next person in line. You can enter to get as many as you like during February, but you can only take home one. Please note that this giveaway is US only, I’m sorry overseas peeps, but the cost of shipping 12+ packages overseas this month isn’t one my part time job can handle at the moment.
This is the last round of Sailor Moon giveaways! Thank you to everyone who has left comments this month. Congrats to Trish, Rebecca, and Tiffany who are taking these three home.
February’s 12/12/12 Project is nearly complete with Sailor Saturn and Sailor Pluto capping off the Outer Senshi, so who could be left? Hmm … I know Sailor Saturn is a real fan favorite so I passed over the really serious, intense looking images and picked a sticker with her looking happy. Of all of the charms I made though, I think Pluto is probably my favorite, it came out exactly like I wanted it to. I really wish that Pluto had gotten more screen time in the anime, her “Dead Scream” still freaks me out, but I hear she’s featured a lot more in the manga so I’m looking forward to that.
If you are interested in either of these just leave a comment below with your name, a valid email (which will not be public), and which one you would like (you can also say either would be fine). Update! Thank you to everyone who left a comment, Taylor and Austin were the lucky first two and will be taking these home. My kitty is sick so I didn’t have time to post these on Tumblr until a day later and that’s apparently where all of you came from! Thank you for all the comments, I have one more round of Sailor Moon phone straps to give away before it’s over.
