Last week I posted part two of my studio photos of this new Zombuki Pullip doll, and today we have the last set of photos. As you can see above, a lot of new gold details have appeared and the lips have a top layer that’s a mix of pink and gold. I wanted her to be super detailed with lots of gold, but I got very gun shy about adding the gold to the eye design. In the end, though, I’m glad I did.
Here’s a photo of her getting close to the end, I put them together with the eyes and wigs many times to make sure the colors look right. Her eyes are from Cool Cat and her wig is from Leekeworld in the season limited color Bright Leaf. I’ve had it for over a year, so I think this particular combo is sold out, but they have been making the color available now and again.
Time for another week of studio photos (that are late again, oops) hurray! This week was my first full week back to school, which teachers call pre-school, so it’s been very hard to find studio time. My posts will probably get a lot less frequent as school starts up, for both me and my students, because it looks like I’m back in my M.A. program. Crazy! I left two years ago when I started teaching because I could not juggle my one grad school class with teaching classes (mandatory) and being a good teacher. Now I am wanting to get my PhD and teach college, so my M.A. has to be a priority. I have one class and my thesis left so this will be a crazy year!
Above are some small cameos that I was mixing and matching to get them ready for craft shows. I had to set a bunch of them to the side because so many of the cameos had flaws. I don’t know about other handmade/crafty people, but I’ve found sellers are sending me more and more damaged good which I will not sell my customers. When I’ve emailed them they’ve ignored me or, worse, after sending them photos, say they “can’t see” what’s wrong with the damaged item. Silly.
Swoon! I bought this beautiful Leeke World wig from Fabric Friends (link goes to Leeke wigs page) their website doesn’t look that nice and they list the wig color instead of showing it, but they have always had rare wigs and shipped them quickly. Denver Doll is also an excellent site if you’re looking for Leeke wigs without the $20 minimum Leeke shipping charge.
It’s time for another Zombuki Thursday post! This week’s post features new photos of an older Zombuki custom Pullip, Sierra, one of the Unicorn Twins. I finished Sierra a long time ago, but never took photos of her until recently. Over the summer, Sierra and her sister Bianca went home to a dear friend and Zombuki doll uber-collector, so I’m very happy because they are in good hands.
Zombuki Pullip Sierra – Unicorn Series
Sierra’s wig and horn are both from Leeke World, her dress is BHC, and her eye are Cool Cat flat clear chips that I added copious amounts of glitter to. I hope you enjoyed her photos, I am planning on making another unicorn girl soon and I can’t wait.
Zombuki #72 is complete, she’s a Byul doll named Basil. You may remember her from the studio photos that I took a few weeks back. Basil was made using a Leeke limited color wig (Spring Mint I think) and eye chips that I made from resin. She is wearing a beautiful Kuloft dress and Groove stock bits.
Basil is the third Zombuki I’ve finished this summer and I’m very proud of her. I wanted her colors to have a sort of pastel earth tone vibe, which wasn’t easy to pull off. I think she looks really unique because of it though. Basil comes with a kokeshi, but I forgot to photograph her. I’ll have to take a photo of it before Basil goes home to her new owner.
